With average January lows around 5 degrees, your furnace must always be in good condition to provide sufficient heating. The extreme heat inside a furnace will often result in problems turning on or failing to provide effective heating. Common issues include a faulty igniter, dirty flame sensor, dirty burners, malfunctioning limit switch, and worn-out blower motor. No matter what problem your furnace has, our technicians are up to the task of repairing it. We work with all brands and models and will diagnose the problem accurately and quickly get your furnace working again. From Dakota County Fairgrounds to Vermillion River Trail and Prairie View Park, we can provide prompt, professional repairs.
Putting off a furnace repair is always a bad idea due to the risk of a sudden breakdown. It could also put your safety at risk. By scheduling a prompt repair visit, you can avoid the problem getting worse or your heating bills skyrocketing. Not getting your furnace fixed immediately also has the potential to significantly reduce its lifespan.
If you notice any of these problems, our technicians are ready to help.
As furnaces age, they can become more prone to developing issues. This may prevent them from working effectively or lead to frequent breakdowns. Eventually, it doesn’t make sense to keep putting money into your furnace for additional repairs. When this time comes, you can rely on us for a quality, affordable furnace replacement. We install conventional and condensing furnaces. We will make sure your new unit is the proper size for your home and works exactly like it should. When replacing the furnace, we’ll treat your house with care and protect the work area to prevent any damage.
Even though replacing a furnace is costly, there are times when it’s going to be the better option. Some things to consider in this regard are how old your furnace is and its overall condition. You’ll also need to consider any potential safety issues it may have. Also factor in repair costs and the savings you’ll make each month with a more efficient furnace.
All of these situations are times when replacement might be a great choice.

A dirty or malfunctioning flame sensor, faulty pressure switch, or faulty thermostat can cause a furnace to shut off mid-cycle. Overheating will also result in the temperature limit switch triggering and causing the furnace to shut down. In that case, the blower will continue to run for a few minutes until the heat exchanger is sufficiently cool.
Water naturally forms in a high-efficiency condensing furnace as water vapor in the exhaust fumes condenses into liquid. The water collects in the drain pan and then flows out through the condensate drain line. If your furnace is leaking, there could be a clog in the drain line or a cracked drain pan.
Furnaces will almost always produce a burning smell when turned on for the first time each winter. Dust settles inside the unit when not in use, then burns off, so this smell should dissipate fairly quickly. A persistent burning smell is usually a sign of a more serious problem that requires immediate attention. If you ever notice a persistent burning smell, you should shut off your furnace and call for an emergency inspection.
