Common Furnace Repair Needs
If you’ve started to notice your furnace not running as well as it used to, there is likely a repair need that will need to be addressed before it is ready for a full winter. Over the years, we’ve seen every repair need possible at Hurlburt. Here are just a few of the most common repair needs your furnace might be needing.
Dirty or Clogged Filters
Over time, the filter on your furnace can become dirty or clogged. Dirt, debris, and dust can all start to build up on the filter, making it harder and harder for warm air to circulate out through your home and cool air to be pulled into the furnace. If you have reusable filters, these filters simply need to be washed out and put back. However, if they are not, they will need to be fully replaced. Luckily, our team can take care of both! During our inspection and repair of whatever is going on with your furnace, we can also take care of your dirty or clogged filters.
Faulty Thermostat
Another one of the more common repair needs of a furnace system is a faulty thermostat. Though the thermostat doesn’t help with the actual heating of the home, it is one of the most important parts of the system as a whole. The thermostat helps to monitor the temperature of your home and ensure it is staying up where you want it. If the thermostat is reading the temperature of your home incorrectly, you could either accidentally be over or underheating your home. Fixing the thermostat can make sure that your home is comfortable all winter long.
Ignition/Pilot Light Issues
If you have a modern furnace, it likely utilizes an electronic igniter. If it is older, you probably have a furnace with a pilot light. Either way, some form of ignition or initial heat source is needed to begin the heating process. If this isn’t functioning, then the furnace won’t be able to effectively cool your home. This is one of the first things we will check when inspecting your unit!
Broken Blower Motor
Finally, the blower motor is what moves the warm air from the furnace throughout the rest of your home. Without the blower motor, the warm air would simply sit in the furnace until the furnace either shuts off or the air naturally dissipates. This would mean that the rest of your home would grow colder and colder. Make sure the warm air that your furnace creates can circulate through your home with a blower motor furnace repair today.
