All components tested operational, but identified high limit switch activation caused by restricted airflow. Observed temperature stress points on heat exchanger and intermittent shutdown possibly related to gas valve closure or voltage fluctuations. Scheduled follow-up for complete furnace replacement due to age and condition.
Responded to no heat service call for 10+ year old furnace that was not staying on. Diagnosed system and found thermostat was incorrectly set to cooling mode instead of heating. Reset thermostat to proper heat mode with 78°F setpoint and confirmed system operation. Fan functioning correctly in "On" position.
Diagnosed two 11-year-old high efficiency furnaces both experiencing intermittent heat issues due to high limit lockouts.
