Inspected residential electric water heater located in basement utility area. Verified no visible leaks present at tank, connections, or temperature/pressure relief valve. Tested GFCI outlet and confirmed tripping behavior, noting outlet temperature elevation indicating electrical draw issue. De-energized circuit at breaker panel and removed water heater access panels to inspect internal electrical components. Tested both upper and lower heating elements with multimeter. Identified lower heating element showing signs of failur
Responded to no heat complaint for recently installed furnace under warranty. Diagnosed E250 high limit error code caused by plugged filter. Removed and replaced filter, restoring proper airflow. Verified furnace operation before departure; unit now functioning normally.
Responded to follow-up service call for recently installed furnace with uneven heating issues. Accessed attic to inspect ductwork and adjusted dampers on the trunk line serving the main level to redirect airflow to the second floor bedroom above garage. Modified thermostat settings from staged to variable capacity mode to improve temperature control throughout the home.
Responded to no heat complaint where customer was experiencing difficulty with programmable thermostat. Upon inspection, found thermostat was following a 62-degree schedule causing reduced airflow. Disabled programming to maintain manual setpoint, demonstrated proper thermostat operation including mode changes, and verified furnace functionality. Customer advised on thermostat options compatible with their two-stage furnace that would provide a larger display and simpler interface.
Performed diagnostic service on multi-stage gas furnace system with inadequate heating to bonus room above garage. Inspected ductwork in attic, adjusted airflow distribution by closing several main level registers, and modified gas heat control parameters including stage differentials. Reprogrammed thermostat settings and adjusted blower speeds to improve air delivery to problem area, successfully restoring balanced heating throughout the home.
Conducted airflow verification on newly installed furnace system after customer reported inadequate supply to upstairs registers. Diagnostic testing showed uneven air distribution with reduced flow from one side. Documented temperature readings at vents and inspected ductwork condition. Communicated findings to Nick who will develop solution to address the airflow imbalance. System is currently providing heat.
Performed comprehensive diagnostic on furnace after multiple reported failures. Inspected primary and secondary heat exchangers finding no cracks or damage. Cleaned condensation trap and examined inducer motor. Verified proper gas valve pressure at inlet and outlet, checked fan speed and burner operation. System currently operating normally with no identified issues. Scheduled appointment with comfort advisor to discuss potential equipment replacement options.
Responded to service call to replace a failing ball valve. Successfully removed existing 1-1/2" valve, installed new C x C ball valve, and added a supply valve to facilitate future service. Performed complete system drain-down and refill to restore proper operation. System tested and functioning normally.
Responded to a no-heat call on previously serviced furnace with recurring issues. Diagnosed multiple problems including damaged rollout switch connection, improperly positioned tubes, and clogged condensation trap. Repaired the rollout switch wiring, repositioned tubes, and cleaned the condensation trap to restore proper operation.
Responded to service call for a leaking shut-off valve on a 10+ year old boiler system. Inspection revealed significant corrosion and mineral deposits on a 1-inch copper pipe valve that had begun leaking. Performed complete valve replacement, including system drainage and proper refill to restore proper operation.
Diagnosed 10+ year old natural gas furnace with error code 31. Conducted comprehensive inspection of flame sensor, ignitor, safety components, and condensate systems. Identified leaks in secondary heat exchanger requiring replacement. Temporarily restored operation and scheduled comfort advisor for heat exchanger replacement estimate.
Responded to service call for leaking exterior hose bibb with malfunctioning interior shut-off valve. Upon inspection, successfully closed interior gate valve that customer had been unable to operate. Provided recommendation and estimate for replacement of both the interior valve and exterior hose bibb, which customer declined at this time.
Completed warranty repair on Amana furnace by replacing the control board (Emerson Climate Technologies) and pressure switches. System was thoroughly tested after component installation, confirming proper operation and resolving the previous issue.
Responded to service call for toilet malfunction. Upon inspection, identified failed fill valve and deteriorated flush canister seal as the source of the issue. Removed tank cover, disconnected water supply, and replaced both the fill valve assembly and canister seal with new components. Restored proper water flow and flushing function, then verified no leaks after reassembly.
Responded to no-heat call for 15-year-old furnace system. Diagnosed faulty gas valve that was receiving proper signal but not opening, causing pilot light failure. Due to component failure and system age, replaced entire furnace unit rather than just the valve. Documented significant corrosion and wear on internal components through inspection photos.
Responded to a no-heat call where furnace was repeatedly entering standby mode requiring manual reset. Diagnosed error codes indicating "flame present when shouldn't be." Replaced control board and switches to resolve the recurring issue that had persisted since our previous service visit one week prior.
Responded to no heat complaint on 9-year-old Amana furnace with intermittent ignition failure occurring primarily at night. Diagnostic testing revealed stored error code 7 (ignition lockout) in system history, but all components functioned properly during inspection. Performed electrical testing on ignition system components with no faults detected. Will continue to monitor situation as intermittent issue could not be replicated during service call.
Diagnosed 20-year-old furnace with intermittent operation and cool air output. Upon inspection, identified multiple critical failures including pressure switch, high limit control, and compromised secondary heat exchanger. Due to extent of component failures and unit age, complete furnace replacement was recommended and performed.
Responded to no-heat call on aging Goodman furnace that was previously serviced for a leak. Diagnosed issue with sticking door switch that was preventing proper operation. Restored normal functionality by adjusting the door switch mechanism. Performed combustion analysis with Testo 310 II, confirming system is now operating within acceptable parameters (CO: 21ppm, efficiency: 67.2%).
