Cut and prepared new wire ends, reconnected to proper terminals per wiring diagram. Inspected rooftop condenser unit, verified refrigerant charge within specifications. Cycled system through complete operation, confirmed heating and cooling functions restored to normal parameters.
Responded to a no cool call on an older Carrier air conditioning system. Upon arrival, checked the furnace fault code which indicated a short in the low voltage circuit. Inspected the 3 amp fuse and confirmed a direct short was present. Traced the low voltage wiring through the outdoor unit and re-terminated connections between the indoor control board and outdoor low voltage terminals to isolate the fault. Tested the contactor coil and found it reading 0.5 ohms, confirming a failed and shorted coil. Replaced the outdoor contactor and re-terminated all low voltage wiring at both the indoor control board and outdoor unit connections. Rechecked system operation and confirmed the unit is now cooling normally with proper low voltage circuit function restored.
Responded to no cooling complaint and found system low on refrigerant with failed compressor. Performed insulation resistance test on compressor which confirmed electrical failure. Also discovered blown fuses in disconnect. Due to age and condition of equipment with multiple failed components, recommended and completed full system replacement of outdoor condensing unit.
Responded to no cooling complaint on 2-year-old Carrier air conditioning system for third-party evaluation of reported refrigerant leak. Upon arrival, discussed diagnostic approach involving refrigerant charge verification, dye injection, and leak detection process with property owner. Customer declined further diagnostic services, opting instead to proceed with original installing contractor who offered coil replacement under existing warranty coverage.
Responded to service call for corroded union fitting on top of recently installed A.O. Smith water heater. Upon inspection, identified corrosion on one of the upper unions connected to the copper supply lines. Successfully replaced the corroded union fitting with new brass union, ensuring proper seal and connection integrity. Tested system for leaks and verified proper water flow and pressure upon completion.
Responded to service call for HVAC zoning system malfunction where dampers were not opening fully, restricting airflow throughout the home. Replaced defective Honeywell Home zone control board with new unit sourced from local supply house. After installation, verified all zone dampers now operate and open to full position. However, upon completion testing identified secondary issue with inadequate airflow to master bedroom despite proper damper operation, indicating potential ductwork restriction or additional system component requiring further diagnosis.
Performed comprehensive AC tune-up on system experiencing poor cooling performance with weak temperature split. Found outdoor condenser coil extremely dirty with 2 dead mice and large wasp nest inside unit, severely restricting airflow and heat transfer. Cleaned condenser coil, removed debris and pest contamination, replaced failed capacitor, addressed refrigerant system issues, and replaced deteriorated suction line insulation to restore proper system efficiency and cooling capacity.
Responded to no cooling complaint on 12-year-old Lennox air conditioning system. Upon inspection, diagnosed three primary issues: low refrigerant charge, severely restricted airflow due to plugged air filter, and blocked outdoor condenser coil restricting heat transfer. Cleaned outdoor coil to restore proper airflow and heat rejection capacity. Replaced dirty air filter with new filter to ensure adequate system airflow. Added refrigerant to bring system charge to manufacturer specifications. Verified proper system operation with normal cooling restored upon completion.
Replaced leaking backyard hose bib and interior shut-off ball valve. Removed existing outdoor faucet and installed new hose bib with proper connections. Replaced faulty interior ball valve controlling the exterior water line. System was pressurized and tested for 10 minutes under full flow conditions with no leaks detected. Work area cleaned and all connections verified secure upon completion.
Responded to no cooling complaint on 22-year-old R22 air conditioning system. Upon inspection, discovered system was low on refrigerant and assessed overall condition of aging unit. Due to the system's age, R22 refrigerant type, and current refrigerant loss, recommended full system replacement and assisted in scheduling estimate appointment for new equipment installation.
Responded to no cooling call on 13-year-old system. Thermostat was set to cool with fan on auto; indoor blower was operational but outdoor condensing unit failed to start. Diagnosed no voltage present at outdoor unit, indicating electrical supply issue beyond HVAC equipment. Recommended electrician for further diagnosis and repair of electrical circuit.
