FAQs
The more questions Chaska homeowners ask about their AC system, the better they understand how it operates, allowing them to make informed decisions regarding necessary services. There are several questions that are beneficial for clients to ask regarding some common AC issues they might experience.
Why Is a Burning Smell Coming From My AC?
If you’re experiencing a burning smell coming from your AC, there’s likely an electrical issue. It’s best not to continue using your cooling system until we’ve had a chance to inspect it. A burning odor indicates that there’s a fire risk, and continuing to run your system could put your home and life in danger. If you’re worried about it being hot in your home, consider running a ceiling fan, window AC, or box fan in the meantime.
Do I Need to Schedule Professional Inspections of My HVAC System?
You don’t need to, but we recommend it. It’s ideal to schedule an inspection twice per year, once in the spring to ensure your system is ready for summer and then again in the autumn in preparation for winter. Additionally, your system warranty may stipulate that professional inspections are necessary in order for it to remain valid. Not adhering to the terms may void your warranty.
Can I Replace My Heat Pump Myself?
We strongly advise against trying to replace your heat pump yourself. Our professional technicians can do a fantastic job of replacing the system to ensure it’s done properly and will continue to operate efficiently throughout the hot summer and cold winter.
