2022 Energy Efficiency Trade Ally Excellence Award Winner

We won an award! Hurlburt Heating, AC and Plumbing was recognized this fall for our outstanding energy efficiency practices with the 2022 Energy Efficiency Trade Ally Excellence Award. Granted by Focus On Energy for Contractor Excellence, this was their first year to include this category. We are very proud to be an ally for energy-efficient practices for our clients and community!

Our company won this award due to our efforts over the past 10 years advising our customers on energy efficient heating & air solutions. In that time, we submitted over 1,100 rebate requests for our clients totaling almost $200,000 in savings. Not only do efficient units qualify for cost-saving rebates, they also keep power bills down. And, of course, energy-efficient systems use fewer resources to keep our state beautiful.

Gov. Evers, PSC Recognize Energy Efficiency Day

FOCUS ON ENERGY® Supports Wisconsinites’ Energy Efficiency Efforts

MADISON, WI – Today, Governor Tony Evers, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC), and Focus on Energy join hundreds of energy efficiency advocacy groups and organizations from around the United States to recognize Energy Efficiency Day on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. In partnership with the PSC, Governor Evers proclaimed the day as Energy Efficiency Day throughout Wisconsin.

“Energy efficiency efforts play an important role in building a healthier, more sustainable future here in Wisconsin,” said Gov. Evers. “On top of all the environmental benefits, energy efficiency saves Wisconsinites’ money, creates jobs, and upgrades local infrastructure. That’s a win-win-win, so I was proud to again proclaim Energy Efficiency Day to recognize the steps folks and businesses have already taken to be more energy efficient and to encourage others to learn more.”

“Reducing our energy use through energy efficiency saves money for each of us individually, but it also adds up to reduced utility costs for everyone,” said PSC Chairperson Rebecca Cameron Valcq. “To reach the goals shared by utilities and the state to have all electricity consumed in Wisconsin to be carbon-free by 2050, energy efficiency programs like Focus on Energy must play a pivotal role.”

For more than 20 years, Focus on Energy has helped Wisconsinites eliminate energy waste through the installation of cost-effective energy efficient and renewable energy projects. By doing this, Wisconsin homeowners and businesses have played a part in creating jobs, upgrading local infrastructure, and improving the environment. Since 2001, Focus on Energy has helped more than 2.8 million residents and businesses save more than $370 million in energy costs.

“New technology and products in the energy sector are making it easier for businesses and homeowners to be more energy efficient,” Focus on Energy Managing Director Lisa Stefanik said. “For Energy Awareness Month, Focus on Energy is highlighting businesses and Trade Allies who are continuously looking for ways to reduce energy waste, become more energy efficient, and ensure a sustainable energy future.”

n Energy’s most recent independent evaluation revealed that the Program generated $69,613,955 in health benefits for Wisconsin in 2021, accumulated by reduced emissions. The same report showed that program participant satisfaction with Focus on Energy exceeded the goal, reaching 9.5 on a 10-point scale in 2021 and found every $1 invested in Focus on Energy generates more than $4 in benefits for Wisconsin, including economic benefits, reduced energy costs, and reduced pollution.
